PHP/MySQL/jQuery Web Application Developer

Deversus Software Inc. is a small, fast-paced and easygoing web application development company with ambitious goals and challenging projects. Our developers enjoy flexible work hours, beautiful (or magical and revolutionary… whichever you prefer) 27" iMacs, state-of-the-art web technologies, creative freedom, and an enjoyable work environment that consists of young, like-minded individuals. Our office is conveniently located in the Main and Broadway area of Vancouver with a nice view of the top-half of the North Shore Mountains :).

We have an immediate opportunity for the right LAMP developer/jQuery specialist. This position will start as a 3 month, on-site, full-time contract, with the likelihood of full-time employment at the end of the term, assuming there is a good fit for both parties.

Absolute must-have skills:

• Expert knowledge of PHP/MySQL/jQuery
• Thorough understanding of OOA/D/P concepts and experience working with MVC PHP development frameworks
• Passion for solving technically challenging problems in an elegant and efficient way
• Ability to be self-directed and motivated to be productive -- we're a small team that relies on equal players whom we can depend on to get the job done right the first time

You'll be working on:

To start, you'll be primarily working on a web-based media distribution project that is well underway. We generally have several projects on the go, which means you'll reap the benefits of working on diverse applications that keep your days fresh.

We'd be super stoked if:

• You have a BSc. Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent post-secondary education
• Experience with CakePHP and/or SilverStripe
• Solid understanding of SVN and related concepts
• You know cross-browser/platform quirks like the back of your hand (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer [7.0+]) and how to handle them
• Your written and verbal English skills are exemplary
• You've got superb interaction/UI/usability skills
• You're interested in the latest tech, such as HTML5 and CSS3
• Solid grasp of Apache/htaccess and general unix concepts
• You know who 37signals is
